Seven Steps in Renting the Right Moving Truck

When the time to move out comes , many people feel confused and frustrated. There are so many things to consider and plan , that many people get panicked. It seems that the most difficult thing to cope with, when moving out is finding the right moving truck.

If you find yourself in a similar situation, here are ten steps, you can use in selecting the right truck.

Step one: The first step is to determine the destination. It is important to determine how far you are going and what size of truck you will need. Before you start looking for a truck you have to measure your stuff to see what size it should be. Remember that you will need  a large truck with enough  space to contain your belongings. Look for larger truck, rather than trying to estimate exactly how big it should be.  It is also a good idea to plan your packing and decide for how long you will need the truck. Remember that , you have to pay a rent so make sure to plan in advance your moving.

Step two: In this step all you have to do is book your truck. Make sure to investigate at least 10 moving companies to find the one that works for you. You should also find out how much will the services cost you and what is included in the price. When you find a company , book the moving truck at least one week before the moving day.  This will be the perfect time for you to buy or book any additional tools and services, you may need.

Step three: When you contact a moving agency, be prepared for some questions they may ask you. The agency will want to find out the day and time you will need the moving truck and to what destination. Keep in mind that, the the company representatives may have to come to your home and measure  your stuff, to help you choose the right truck for you.

Step four: The next thing you should do is make sure that you have an insurance. The rental agency will provide you with insurance for the vehicle . If you want a little more security, you can ask them about other coverage, like limited or total loss insurance. You will need this in case your stuff is damaged or totally lost. No matter what type of insurance you will chose, make sure to buy one, to protect your belongings during the move.

Step five: Before you pay any deposits, carefully investigate the truck for any damages. Check for scratches or any other obvious damages. You should also check the amount of gas in the truck and write it down. When you have unpacked your belongings, you have to bring the truck back and filled with gas.

Step six: Before you load your belongings in the truck , make sure that you have all relevant documents with you. The company must provide you with: signed copies of rental agreement, a document which show that the truck is in a good condition, a copy of the insurance coverage and any other additional documents. These copies are important when you are transporting your belongings.

Step seven: The last step includes loading the truck. When you are loading your stuff, be extremely careful with the fragile and heavy items. Remember, that the insurance will not cover broken stuff while loading, if it is not caused due to a company representatives negligence.

As you can see, finding the right moving truck can be a little overwhelming, but if you follow the steps given above , you will make it easier.
