How To De Clutter Your Home And Make Money From It Whilst Moving Home

It is surprising how many items we possess over the years, generally it is not until we decided to move and are forced to sort through our belongings, does the reality of how many possessions we have collected over the years really hits home.  One way of getting rid of your unwanted items is to sell what you can to gain more money for your move or newer item for your new home. Here are some helpful tips on how to de clutter your home and make money from it.1.    Start to de clutter your belongings that are to be sold before hand, this will give you enough time to go through your items, you can keep a box solely for items to be sold and whilst doing your daily routine you can add unwanted items has you go. 2.    DE Clutter you belongings on a  room by room basis, this will make it easier when you come to sell your items and will enable you to have a clear indication that is in each of the boxes, for example, if you start with your bedroom you will have mostly clothing, shoes bags etc., the children rooms will be un used toys and the kitchen will of course be made up of unwanted kitchen items, be honest with yourself and try to get rid of everything that you will never use. 3.    Once you have established your boxes it will be easy to fill on a daily basis of items you want to sell, before you know it you will have so many items for sale that you never released you had. 4.    If you choose to sell you items in online auction ten it is a good idea to start selling “one room” at a time, for example start by selling all the unwanted clothing, shoes bags ect this will be more beneficial as the buyer may also be interested in the matching shoes to an outfit for example, this will help you sell more items and may be cheap on the p&p and buyers are more inclined to purchase multi items.   5.    Remember to include all fee associated with online auction and that you will still have to pay an insertion fee even if you do not sell your items. 6.    If online auction are not your thing, then consider doing a car boot sale, such sales are generally seasonal, so during the summer holidays will be the best time to sell, you can also get the kids involved and have a fun day out whilst de cluttering your items and making money from them.  Car boot sale will charge you an entry fee and you will need to get there early to get a good space, as these will be allocated on a first come first served basis. 7.    If you want to sell closer to home consider doing a garage sale, you can advertise locally, at your workplace or children’s school to let people know you will be holding a sale, this will be an easy option as you will not have to move your items for sale far and if the weather turns nasty it will not take you long to get your items back indoors. 8.    For larger items you should consider advertising in your local online newspaper, this is generally free of charge and the buyer will have to collect.Whichever methods you decide to do to sell your items, it is worth try to sell to recover some of the money that you will spending on your move to your new home.
